Bella Hadid hospitalised for Lyme disease after ‘countless defeats,’ mother Yolanda says in tribute to her ‘fighter’ model daughter
“You are a survivor,” Yolanda Hadid, Bella’s mother, wrote in an Instagram post on Thursday.
According to her mother Yolanda’s Instagram post, Bella Hadid was recently admitted to the hospital due to her battle with Lyme disease, and she referred to her as “courageous.”
The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills actress Yolanda, wrote on Instagram on Thursday about how “watching my Bella struggle in silence” has made her feel “the deepest core of hopelessness.”
“It is difficult for anyone to comprehend or explain the invisible disability of chronic neurological Lyme disease,” Yolanda wrote. “I make an effort to set an example for our Lyme journey, but witnessing my baby’s suffering is far worse than my own misery. As soon as the lab results show that we won, I hope to share with you and the Lyme community what we have learned and where we have been.
Gigi Hadid’s mother, Yolanda, continued to speak directly to Bella, describing her as “relentless and courageous.”
She went on, “I respect your courage and your resolve to continue fighting for health in spite of the ineffective procedures and innumerable setbacks you have encountered.”
“You learned how to survive inside the prison of your own paralysed brain; you didn’t truly live.” You are a fighter, and I am very proud of you. No matter how long this takes, you are not alone, and I swear to support you at every turn.
Yolanda, a former Dutch model, gave her daughter praise for persevering through yet another treatment month.
“My love, I pray for a quick recovery for you,” she continued. “You have survived… My fierce warrior, you have my undying affection.
After Hadid posted a number of images of her recent hospital visit on Instagram earlier this week, giving fans her own health update, Yolanda’s post follows suit. The Instagram post has images of Hadid with medical tubes and a crocheted angel on her pillow, along with a photograph of her lying in her hospital bed with tears in her eyes.
In other pictures, Hadid can be seen squatting on an elevator floor, playing games with loved ones, and eating pizza while watching Netflix. Hadid did not reveal why she was admitted to the hospital at the time.
I apologise for continually going missing. Hadid said, “I love you guys,” as the caption for her Instagram photo.
In 2012, Hadid, along with her mother and younger brother, Anwar, received a Lyme disease diagnosis. When she was diagnosed, the founder of Orebella was sixteen years old.

In 2023, Hadid gave followers an update on her fight with Lyme illness, announcing that she was “finally healthy.”
In August 2023, she posted on Instagram, saying, “Trying to make myself, my family, and the people who support me proud while living in this state, worsening with time and work, had taken a toll on me in ways I can’t really explain.”
It was perhaps the most perplexing thing I have ever experienced to be so depressed and ill despite having so many gifts, privileges, opportunities, and affection all around me. … I would go through all of this again if I had to in order to reach to this precise moment, when I am with all of you, finally healthy. It helped shape who I am now.
